🚨 Important Policy: Accurate Declaration of Imported Goods

📌 Why It Matters

When using Cargo2SG, you must declare the true purchase value in SGD for all imported goods. This is essential for:

  • ✅ Accurate GST declaration to Singapore Customs

  • ✅ Valid insurance claims (if needed)

  • ✅ Smooth and timely customs clearance

❗ Under-Declaration Is Illegal

Providing false or undervalued declarations can lead to:

  • 🚫 Customs delays

  • 🚫 Parcel confiscation

  • 🚫 Heavy fines or legal prosecution

⚖️ Your Legal Responsibility

As the importer, you are legally required to provide true, accurate, and complete information to Cargo2SG for customs declarations.

Penalties for false declarations:

  • Fines up to 20× the evaded GST

  • Imprisonment, or

  • Both, under the Singapore Customs Act

✅ Why Cargo2SG Is Strict

We take declaration seriously because:

  1. We won’t risk our business license and reputation for non-compliance
  2. We protect all customers

    • Parcels are shipped in shared containers

    • One false declaration may cause the entire container to be detained by Customs, delaying everyone’s parcels

📄 What We May Request Customers to Provide

To comply with Customs regulations, we may ask you for:

  • 🧾 Proof of purchase (receipts, invoices)

  • 📦 Accurate product descriptions and values

❌ If You Don’t Cooperate

If you:

  • Refuse to provide the required information for clearance, or

  • Insist on declaring undervalued goods

We may:

  • ❌ Reject your shipment, or

  • 🚚 Proceed with separate clearance using your NRIC or UEN

    • 💰 S$40 processing fee applies

    • Your parcel will be cleared independently, not with others, by using your NRIC or company UEN
