Cargo2SG’s Sea Freight Shipping Fees (General & Sensitive Goods)

Cargo2SG – Sea Freight Shipping Fees (General & Sensitive Goods)

(I) Sea Freight Shipping for Normal (General) Goods

  • Shipping Calculation: Charges are based on volumetric (dimensional) weight in cubic meters (CBM), not actual weight. Formula: Length × Width × Height (in meters).

  • Minimum Shipping Volume: You can submit a shipping order once your total parcels reach 0.1 CBM. We do not require a 1 CBM minimum like many other freight forwarders.

  • Transit Time: Approximately 12–14 days from our Guangzhou warehouse to Singapore.

  • GST (Goods and Services Tax):

    • All sea shipments are subject to 9% GST, based on the declared value by the customer.

    • GST is paid directly to Singapore Customs (not to Cargo2SG) during customs clearance.

    • Total Fee = Shipping Fee + 9% GST

  • Example:

    • Shipping Fee: S$13

    • Declared Value: S$100

    • GST: 9% of S$100 = S$9

    • Total Cost: S$13 + S$9 = S$22

  • Latest Shipping Rate: Rates may change frequently. Thus, please contact us via WhatsApp for the latest shipping rates.

  • Examples of Normal Goods: Clothes, shoes,  furniture, toys, sports equipment, non-electric hardware, and non-assisted bicycles.

  • Free Services:

    • No extra fee for packing or consolidation.

    • Unlimited parcels can be consolidated per shipping order.

  • Heavy Goods Policy: For very heavy items (e.g., tiles, steel, construction materials, gym weight-lifting equipment), we use “500 kg = 1 CBM” instead of volumetric weight.

(II) Sea Freight Shipping for Sensitive Goods

  • Definition: Sensitive goods include:

    • Branded/luxury items (e.g., Nike, Adidas)

    • Liquids or powders (e.g., ink, toner, shampoo, beverage)

    • Batteries or electronics (e.g., smart watches, TV, PC monitors, washing machine, refrigerator, food, food appliances like water bottles and glassware)

    • Cosmetics, DVDs, books, food (absolutely non-meat), drinks, sex  or adult toys, medications, etc.

  • Shipping Rates:

    • If for personal (non-commercial) use at a small volumn or quantity, sensitive goods may be charged at normal rates, and the sensitive goods surcharge may be waived.

    • Rates may vary frequently, and thus please confirm with us via WhatsApp.

  • Prohibited Goods: Items banned by Singapore Customs (e.g., chewing gum, e-cigarettes, drugs, weapons) will not be shipped.

  • Controlled Goods: Some goods (e.g., processed food, health product,  and home appliances) require a valid import permit. Shipping without proper documentation is a serious offense.

(III) Small Sea Parcels – Charged by Weight

  • For small parcels, you can opt for weight-based shipping.

  • We compare actual weight (kg) vs. dimensional weight:

    • Dimensional formula: (L × W × H in cm) / 6000

  • Weight-based Fee Policy:

    • If dimensional weight exceeds actual weight by less than 10 kg, we charge actual weight only.

    • If dimensional weight exceeds actual weight by more than 10 kg, we charge based on the average of actual and dimensional weights.

  • Example:

    • Actual weight: 10 kg

    • Dimensional weight: 22 kg

    • Charged weight = (10 + 22) / 2 = 16 kg

    • Most forwarders would charge 22 kg, but Cargo2SG takes only the average to help you save your money.
